I was very excited to see that Blkbrd was using this leather for their newest line of boots and ordered a pair right away, as I'd already been considering getting a pair of boots for winter weather. They came in last week, and they were worth the wait!
The leather itself is a gorgeous dark, rich burgundy, just like the skin of it's namesake black cherry The leather of the boots feel both supple and tough at the same time, being quite thick and heavy (to me, at least. I haven't had a good set of boots in a long time). The fit is very good, with comfortable room in the toe box, while still feeling fitted through the ball, waist, heel and shaft. The stitching also looks very well done, and overall the craftsmanship is excellent.
That doesn't mean it's machine flawless; these are made by hand, and if you look closely you'll see the little imperfections here and there that show that a craftsperson made it. I appreciate that, and am very happy I chose to pick these up!
