Kodiak is a our take at Lace-to-Toe boots drawing inspirations from original design. A lace-to-toe work boot laces up from the top of the shaft almost to the toe.
These boots with a wedge sole can be your daily drivers or can be worn on terrains that need protection and stability.

This boot exceeded my expectations. BLKBRD customer service was excellent in helping me find my best size. I took a tracing and measurement of my feet, and provided them with examples of shoes that fit me will. Additionally the Humvee last on which this boot is made is very nice, spacious yet elegant.
The mole leather that comes stock with this boot is waxy pull-up leather. It is thick, yet pliable. It shows marks very easily, giving it a lot of character, which I enjoy since I use it as a work boot.
I have to add that calf sling lining on the boot is very nice. I was surprised to see such quality material used for the lining. I love when a company takes care of the details, even when they are unseen.
The only modification I made was the addition of veg tan leather toe and heel stiffeners. These were very well done.
My only small complaint is that the tongue is very thick. This makes it slide to the outside of portion of the shoe, instead of staying centered. I had a cobbler add a tab to mitigate this. A thinner tongue would be a welcome change, and I think addition of a tab on the tongue would help as well.
This is an amazing shoe, and I love that it is made in India. Thank you BLKBRD crew! I wear these shoes all day while doing vessel inspections. They are so comfortable, even from the first day, that i don't think about my feet at all, except when I catch myself admiring the craftsmanship of these boots.
