My first purchase from BLKBRD the hole process and communication was very good and swift. Delivery to Germany was on time. Sizing seemed to be a bit tight at first, but after a few days wear they have become comfortable. The quality and craftsmanship is of a very high standard. I love the look and feel of the leather. The slight creasing visible on the pictures is the result of several days of wear. Also visible is the genuine shoehorn that came with the shoes (very nice) and the additional insoles. The later are leather backed with foam and could be used to customise the fit. Since in my case the fit is already rather snug, I don't need them.
Considering that these shoes are one of the "cheaper" offers from BLKBRD, I'm blown away by the overall quality. Everything from execution and materials to packing and presentation is of a much higher standard than I had hoped for.
This is definitely not my last pair of BLKBRDs. Very well done.
Today I received my Raife model shoes, done in natural Chromexcel leather, and they more than met my expectations. Solid construction, and superb craftsmanship is noticeable, especially in the details of the broguing and pinking ( the pinking is nearly as fine as the stitching along the top line. For me, the shoes fit true to size on the Royce last. This was my first order from BLKBRD, and I can see I will be ordering again in the future. Well done!
I received my brogued Raife derbys recently in Cognac. Love them. The break in for these was almost non existent. Delivery was flawless and early. The only disappointment was not having the customs tax for Canada listed on the website. This information could be easily obtained. The extra $78 cdn was a surprise but it didn’t take away from the experience. Just be aware for Canadians a $193 shoe ends up around $300. I can’t say enough about the quality. Don’t hesitate in making a purchase if you’re on the fence. You will be pleased.
