What more can I say that the title does not already say?
I recently purchased the Dixon model from BLKBRD India in Horween shell cordovan, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience.
As expected with shell cordovan, the shoes were quite stiff out of the box. The break-in period required some patience, but once the leather relaxed, the comfort level improved dramatically. After breaking in, they are exceptionally comfortable and feel supportive even after extended wear. I wore them on a trip to Italy, often for full days while walking over cobblestone streets without any issues and they also looked extremely stylish.
What really stands out is the workmanship. I own shoes from Alden, Edward Green, and Crockett & Jones, and I can confidently say that the build quality and finishing on the BLKBRD Dixon are absolutely comparable to Alden and Crockett & Jones. The stitching, leather quality, and overall construction reflect a very high level of craftsmanship.
Considering the use of Horween shell cordovan and the level of execution, these shoes represent excellent value and are a strong offering in the premium footwear space. In my opinion, BLKBRD has clearly proven that they can stand alongside some of the most respected names in the industry.
Highly recommended for anyone considering well-made shell cordovan shoes.
